Leadership Conference for Women, Thursday June 19, 2008  8:30am-2:30 pm at Brescia University College

Purpose

As Canada's women's college, Brescia is committed to providing opportunities for women to gain knowledge about leadership through its Institute for Women in Leadership. 

Conference Theme - When Opportunity Knocks are you Ready?

This conference explores the ideas about leadership 1) a core belief that we have the power to generate pathways to our goals through our actions 2) that belief in ourselves and our visions encourages us to persevere amid adversity 3) that potential is evoked and realized when we connect with others and forge meaningful relationships built upon authenticity and respect.

The conference is in two streams - one designed for young women  interested in gaining skills in marketing themselves, negotiation, and networking.  The other stream is designed for mid-career women who are seeking to further develop their leadership abilities, and will look at areas such as building successful teams and creating a vision for an organization.

Emanuela Heyninck, Ontario's Commissioner for Pay Equity will be the guest speaker for the lunch time session.

The cost of this conference is kept low to ensure that all women have the opportunity to attend, regardless of income. 

Fee:  $49                                   $29 students and low-waged.
